Resilience & Restoration

The Resilience & Restoration Program offers trauma-informed, culturally grounded support for individuals and families who have experienced displacement, hardship, or major life transitions. Whether you’re healing from trauma, adjusting to a new culture, or rebuilding your sense of identity, you’re not alone—and healing is possible.

Our mission is to restore hope, rebuild confidence, and walk alongside people as they reclaim their voice, purpose, and peace of mind.

What We Offer

Delivered by licensed professionals, this program provides completely free, accessible mental health services tailored to the unique needs of refugees and newcomers. Services are available in person at Action City Church, across Ontario, and online.

Our support includes:

• Individual and Group Therapy
• Refugee Hearing Preparation (including clinical reports)
• Cultural Adjustment and Identity Support
• Men’s and Women’s Wellness and Empowerment
• Exposure-Based Therapy (led by Occupational Therapists)
• Somatic and Yoga-Informed Trauma Healing
• Narrative Therapy and Confidence-Building Circles
• Chronic Pain, Concussion, and Stress Support
• Emotional Regulation and Psychoeducation
• Self-Care Planning and Lifestyle Coaching

In addition, we offer further wellness and recovery services tailored to each person’s journey.

Why It Matters

Mental health care should be safe, culturally sensitive, and accessible to all. For many refugees and newcomers, support is often out of reach or not designed with their lived experience in mind. This program changes that—bringing care into the heart of the community.

At Action City Church, we believe in caring for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. This partnership allows us to extend that care to those who need it most. Services are available both in person and online.
